Le réalisateur du film Titanic, James Cameron, a parlé de la tragédie du submersible OceanGate. Le réalisateur du film oscarisé de 1997 basé sur le naufrage du Titanic en 1912, a déclaré que l'implosion du Titan avec cinq personnes à bord lui avait rappelé l'histoire derrière l'épave qu'ils étaient allés voir. Speaking to ABC News in the USA Cameron explained: �I'm struck by the similarity of the Titanic disaster itself, where the captain was repeatedly warned about ice ahead of his ship and yet he steamed at full speed into an ice field on a moonless night and many people died as a result. �This was such a preventable tragedy. �We�ve never had a tragedy like this in the entire history of deep submergence deep diving.� Cameron himself has completed 33 dives to the Titanic wreckage.
